Nationwide Temperature-Controlled Transport for Perishables and Sensitive Cargo
Refrigerated freight is the movement of temperature-sensitive cargo in climate-controlled trailers that hold an agreed temperature from pickup through delivery. LAX Freight arranges that movement through a pre-qualified network of refrigerated carriers, matching your commodity to the right equipment and the right running mode.
Most shippers who land on this page are not looking for a definition. They have a temperature-controlled shipment and they need a carrier who will not break the cold chain on it. That is the service described below.
Continuous and cycle running modes are both available, so tell us the set-point your commodity needs when you ask for a quote.
When you do not have a full trailer, a full trailer is the wrong thing to pay for. Reefer freight moves with us as full truckload or as temperature-controlled LTL, so you are not buying fifty-three feet for eight pallets. If part of your shipment does not need temperature control at all, it can move on our LTL shipping service instead.
Refrigerated capacity does not price evenly through the year. Produce season in California and the Southwest, harvest peaks in Texas, and the holiday protein run pull trailers out of the spot market at the same time, and that is exactly when a shipper without booked capacity starts calling down a list. If you already know which weeks are your peak, bring us the lane before the market prices it rather than after.
LAX Freight is based in the Los Angeles area and moves refrigerated freight across all 48 contiguous states. If you are pulling produce out of the Central Valley, running cold freight to a Los Angeles receiver, or bringing it into a Las Vegas distribution center, send us the lane and the set-point and we will come back with what capacity looks like on it.
A quote costs nothing. To price a reefer load we need the pickup and delivery points, the set-point temperature, the commodity, the weight and pallet count, and your pickup window. Reefer trucking is freight shipping in temperature-controlled trailers, used for cargo that has to stay frozen, chilled, or protected from freezing between pickup and delivery.
We handle deep-frozen down to -20°F, refrigerated between 34°F and 45°F, ambient and protect-from-freeze, and heated loads up to 85°F. Continuous and cycle running modes are both available, so tell us the set-point when you ask for a quote.
Yes. We meet FSMA and HACCP guidelines for food and pharmaceutical transport.
Yes. We serve all 48 contiguous states, with expedited reefer options in high-volume regions, and we are based in the Los Angeles area.
Yes. Multi-stop refrigerated routes are part of the service, with temperature held from door to door. Where an order mixes frozen and chilled product, a dual-temp trailer can carry both on one truck instead of two.
Both. Reefer freight moves with us as full truckload or as temperature-controlled LTL, so if your shipment does not fill a trailer you are not paying for space you do not use.
Tracking and load monitoring run 24/7 while the freight is in transit, and support is available around the clock if you need to reach someone about a load.
Pickup and delivery points, the set-point temperature, the commodity, weight and pallet count, and your pickup window. That is enough for a firm quote.
